August receives the highest average amount of rainfall for the year in Mali. This is the season where the people of Mali should be conserving the rain in dams and reservoirs for the dry months over November to March. The months of November through to March are the coolest in relation to temperature, although they still have an average temperature of over 20 degrees Celsius. However those months receive little to no rainfall, which can easily lead to annual droughts and population thirst.
